AmOkay Terms of Service

Introduction

Welcome to AmOkay (“the App”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the AmOkay mobile application. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

AmOkay is designed to help users manage wellbeing check-ins, reminders, and optional notifications to trusted contacts.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use AmOkay. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Use of the App

You agree to use AmOkay only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any information you enter into the App.

3.1 Wellbeing Check-ins

The App provides timed reminders and check-in prompts. These features are intended for personal wellbeing support and are not a substitute for emergency services or professional medical care.

3.2 Emergency Contacts (Optional)

You may choose to add trusted contacts to receive notifications if you do not respond to check-ins. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your contacts have consented to receive such notifications.

3.3 SMS Messaging and Carrier Charges (Optional)

Some features of the App may send SMS messages to your device or to your trusted contacts. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. You are solely responsible for any fees, charges, or costs imposed by your mobile carrier for sending or receiving SMS messages through the App. AmOkay does not control, reimburse, or cover carrier-related charges.

Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review the AmOkay Privacy Policy to understand how your information is collected, stored, and used.

By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.

Permissions

The App may request certain permissions to function properly, including:

• Notifications — to deliver reminders and check-ins
• Background execution — to ensure reminders trigger at the correct time
• Contacts (optional) — only if you choose to add emergency contacts

You may decline any optional permissions, but doing so may limit functionality.

No Medical or Safety Guarantees

AmOkay is not a medical device, emergency alert system, or professional safety service.

The App:

• Does not contact emergency responders
• Does not guarantee delivery of notifications
• Does not monitor your physical location or health

You acknowledge that AmOkay is a supportive tool and should not be relied upon as a life-saving or emergency service.

Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the App — including logos, design, text, and software — are owned by AmOkay or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for unlawful or harmful purposes
• Attempt to interfere with the App's functionality
• Access or attempt to access data belonging to other users
• Use automated tools to interact with the App

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee:

• That the App will be error-free
• That notifications will always be delivered
• That the App will meet your expectations

You use the App at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AmOkay and its developers are not liable for:

• Any damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App
• Missed notifications or check-ins
• Actions taken or not taken by emergency contacts
• Loss of data or device issues

Your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the App.

Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted at the same URL where these Terms are hosted. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violations of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion.

You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App.
